At Zion Bishan, we like to think of ourselves as a community of committed Jesus followers who love Him and want to share His love and message of truth to all nations and peoples. That is why we seek to serve others through the mission work that we do.

Jesus Himself expressed this wish in John 10:16: “And other sheep I have which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold and one shepherd.”

Jesus gave clear instructions on what we are to do: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20 ESV).

Zion Bishan’s mission work reaches different groups of people.

Within our neighbourhood of Bishan, we have a café (The Living Room) that seeks to reach out to our community with a homely cafe for people to connect with, over good food.

In Singapore, we also have programmes in our church that serve the needs different groups of people. For example, for seniors (a Saturday seniors get-together), children (tuition and soccer programme), foreign ladies (learning English), preschoolers (Zion Bishan Kindergarten), and also to the residents of the Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled next door.

Further out, in various countries (South East Asia and beyond), we work towards mature, growing, and thriving churches being established among least reached peoples, through various ministries, such as community development (responding to human need by loving service), Bible distribution, encouragement, training and supporting other brothers and sisters in these nations who are reaching their own people with the good news of Jesus.

We also aim to see all Zion Bishan members involved in the work of missions whether near to us or further away, through active prayer, giving, or other support.
