Zion Bishan COVID-19 Mission Relief Fund application
The ZB Mission Relief Fund ("the Fund") was set up to provide financial aid to Zion Bishan BP Church members or regular worshipers whose livelihoods have been affected by Covid-19 and its ensuing national economic disruption. It is meant to provide temporary relief while needy members seek a more sustainable livelihood.

If you wish to apply for your household's relief, please take a few minutes to answer this form. Please keep to one application per household.
Be assured that the information that you provide will be treated with the strictest confidence.

Please bear in mind that this Fund does not substitute the provisions made by the Singapore Government budget and supplementary budget for FY2020/2021 - e.g. the COVID-19 Support Grant. We encourage you to seek the support provided by the Government before resorting to the Fund.

The amount issued to a successful applicant will be up to $500 per person or household within a continuous 3-month period. Applications that may require more than $500 in the same 3-month period, or who require more than one application after the first 3-month period, will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

We have pegged the criteria for eligibility to the same criteria for the Singapore Government's Temporary Relief Fund:

a. Loss of Job since 23 January 2020 due to Covid-19; or
b. Loss of or significant reduction of household income (at least 30%) since 23 January 2020 due to Covid-19.

In addition to satisfying any of the criteria above, the applicant must satisfy the following:

a. Gross household monthly income of $10,000 or less. Or a gross monthly per capita income of $3,100 or less prior to loss of job or reduction of income; and
b. Not a current beneficiary of ComCare assistance, i.e. Long-Term Assistance Scheme, Short-to-Medium Term Assistance, Interim Assistance.

You must also be a communicant member of Zion Bishan BP Church or a regular worshiper (as verified by a Church Pastor or Elder).

Upon application, you may be contacted by a Pastor or Elder for the purpose of assessing your application.

THESE FAQs ARE MEANT TO HELP US STANDARDIZE OUR MANAGEMENT OF THE FUND, AND ACT AS GUIDANCE FOR OUR CLUSTER LEADERS AND THE ADMINISTRATOR TEAM WHEN MEMBERS INQUIRE WITH THEM.

1. Can I apply on behalf of a family member who does not live with me?

Ans: Members or regular attendees should apply on behalf of themselves.

2. What does it mean to be a regular worshiper?

Ans: A rough guide would be attendance at a worship service at least twice a month for the last 6 months (Oct - Mar 2020). This should be verified by a pastor or an elder.

3.  Do I need to show documentary proof of my retrenchment or loss of income?

Ans: If you have successfully applied for Government Temporary Relief Fund aid or the COVID-19 Support Grant, show us proof of that and it would be sufficient. Otherwise, yes it would help us in processing your application if you provide documentary proof.

4. I lost my job before 23 Jan 2020, can I apply? Or my income has been below $3100 since before 23 Jan 2020, can I apply?

Ans: Consistent with the criteria for the Fund (pegged to the Government Temporary Relief Fund), you will not be eligible. However we may consider your case if you can show that you have tried to get work (or to increase your income) but that Covid-19 has made it significantly harder for you to do so.

5. I am a freelancer and my monthly income varies from month to month, do I qualify?

Ans: if you satisfied the criteria for Government Temporary Relief Aid, then Yes.

6. I applied for the COVID-19 Support Grant but am awaiting the outcome. Can I still apply?

Ans: Yes you may. Send us the outcome of your COVID-19 Support Grant application when you get it, and this would expedite our processing of your application.

7. How much relief aid would I get and when?

Ans: The amount that will be disbursed to a successful applicant is capped at SGD$500 per household. It may come in multiple small payouts or in one lump sum, at the discretion of the Administrator Team. All this should be within the space of three months from the approval of your application.
