Discussion Questions:

  1. What do you remember from the passage and the sermon?
  2. How did the church in Ephesus grow (Acts 18:24-19:10)? What does this suggest about how any local church or community like our AGs grow in maturity and knowledge of God?
  3. What happens when the name of Jesus is proclaimed in Ephesus (Acts 19:11-20 and 23-27)? How have you seen Christ work powerfully when His gospel is proclaimed?
  4. How would you describe your own understanding of the Lord Jesus and of His church? How has this passage/sermon helped you grow in these areas?

What if we seriously consider the patient teaching & preaching of Jesus’ Gospel in Zion Bishan?

Patient Teaching & Preaching of Jesus’ Gospel results in…

•  The death of old ways (19:11-19)

•  The word of the Lord increasing & prevailing (19:20)

•  Turning many away from idols (19:23-26)

•  Emptying spiritual powers of their glory (19:27)

Conclusion:

What kind of great change could the patient teaching and preaching of Jesus’ Gospel bring today?

PS: What happens to this faithful loving church (Eph. 1:15) who is discouraged and losing heart? (Eph 3:13; 6:21-22)
