Every Youth a Disciple of Jesus
At Zion Bishan, we desire to see every youth become a disciple of Jesus, enjoying fellowship with Him and His People, and challenged to be sent for His Mission — in line with our church’s vision for every member to be mature in Christ. With this in mind, the Youth Ministry team encourages all youths to actively participate in the various church platforms, which we feel are vital to their spiritual development, namely:
(1) Sunday Worship Service — Sunday service is a vital part of the youths’ spiritual development as they worship together with the wider church family, as youths are an essential part of the Body of Christ.
(2) Youth Discipleship (YD) groups
(3) Youth Fellowship (YF)
(4) Annual Youth Camp
Youth Discipleship groups
These allow the youth to be intentionally discipled by older and more mature Christians. Through journeying together, youths are given a grounding in God’s word and taught the foundations of the Christian faith, while forging firm friendships among their peers. For greater accountability, these small groups are age- and gender-based, and they meet weekly on Sunday afternoons.
If you’re keen on joining a YD group, feel free to contact Jacqueline to find out more!
Youth Fellowship
Every Saturday, 4 – 6pm, at the Chapel
At YF, youths of various ages learn more about Jesus through talks and workshops, and bond through fun and activities. Look out for programme publicities on YF’s Instagram @zionbishanyf .
One of the greatest blessings and promises of the Gospel is the unity and fellowship believers can enjoy with brothers and sisters in the family of God! YF is a fellowship of youth, by youth, and for youth, to experience and practise living in Christian community with each other, and build up godly friendships for life. Extended fellowship after YF is also encouraged through YF dinners, during which youths not only connected with the wider church family over food but also learnt hospitality.
Annual Youth Camp
In 2024, Youth Camp was conducted for about 70 campers, with a planning committee of eight youths & young adults. Through the 6D5N camp, youths learnt about how Jesus is the “No Greater Friend”, exploring the theme of what it means to be Jesus’ friend and to have friends who point them to Jesus. The youths experienced being part of the body of Christ, exercising what they learnt from Jesus’ example of friendship, through spending extended time together, and through intentional workshops and games.
Save the dates for 2025’s Youth Camp : 15 – 20 December!
