Prayer Points 26 July 2020

Our Church

In-Person Services – Thank God for the resumption of services in July. As we look towards continuing the same in August, pray that all logistics, safety and necessary preparations will be carried out smoothly. Uphold our pastors and cluster leaders in prayer as they lead 4 services each week. May the gathering of saints continue to build one another up.

Missions Month Events – Praise God for the opportunities to learn about people groups who are still waiting to hear the good news of Jesus for the first time. Pray that this information will inspire us to take seriously and obey God’s call to make disciples of all nations. Pray for each one here at Zion Bishan to be encouraged to start where they are to shine for Jesus at their workplaces, in their families, and to be willing to bear the cost of reaching the unreached.

Our People

Missions Education & Mobilisation – Thank God for this team who over saw the many events this Missions Month. Pray for Sharon Quek and her team as they seek to begin a monthly missions interest and prayer group. Pray that this effort will mobilise our church to prayer and action for God’s mission.

Christianity Explored (29 Jul) – A new run of CE starts this week. Pray for our facilitators and tables hosts to carry out their roles well. Pray for our members to invite friends. Pray that these friends will
come and ask questions to find out who Jesus is, for their hearts to be open, and for gospel seeds to be sowed. As the sessions are run via Zoom, do pray that they will be free from technical issues.

Foreign Domestic Helpers – Leviticus 19:33-34 “Love them as yourself.” The commands in these verses exhorts us to love the foreigners that live among us. Pray for our families who employ foreign domestic helpers to consider how they can share the love of Christ with their helpers. Pray also that the upcoming care pack distribution (p.8) will bless many of the helpers in our midst.

Our World

North India – Praise God many new families who are coming to faith where our ministry partner is present. Thank God for this receptivity to God. COVID-19 positive cases are increasing in this area and the lockdown continues to bring both economic and physical hardship to this whole area. Pray for the provision of the July support for our ministry partner’s workers families in this region.

Central & West Bengal, India – Heavy rains have damaged one church building in West Bengal and caused flooding in Central India where our ministry partners are. Pray for their protection and safety.

West Nepal – Our partner has just finished planting the paddy and will depend much on this rice harvest. Pray that their harvest will bear fruit and not be washed away by heavy rains.
