Prayer Points 21 February 2021

Our Church

Christianity Explored – Pray that participants will continue to come weekly. Pray for God’s grace and strength to be with our committed facilitators and table hosts as they give their time towards this Gospel work.

Family Ministry Team – The FaM (Family Ministry) Team, consisting of leaders from the Pre-marital, Couples, Dad & Mum groups, Faith at Home, Children and Youth ministries, met up on 20 Feb to talk about a vision for the faith of the next generation. Pray for the team and ministry leaders as they continue to work out the plans for nurturing strong and long lasting faith in our children.

Our People

Pastor Alby Yip – will be going for two corrective surgeries on his right hand. The first is on this Tuesday (23 Feb) and the second three weeks later. Do pray for smooth and successful procedures and that Pastor Alby may regain more function to his injured fingers.

Vernon Quek – We rejoice with Vernon on the successful completion of his ordination examinations. The Presbytery has made the recommendation for him to be ordained as a Pastor. Do keep Vernon, Ruth and family in prayer as they embark on a fresh season in ministry.

Our World

India – Pray for worker B who was hit by a bus from behind while bringing a believer to join him at bible college. As a result of the accident, B’s left leg had to be amputated 7 inches, and only 2 toes remain on his right. Pray for God’s comfort and healing to be on B and that compensation will be expedited (it will likely be a long court case). Recovery will also be a long process. Please pray for peace and strength from our Lord will hold B and his family during this difficult time. Pray for his family (his wife passed away in Sep 2020) and his two young children (the younger one has been given up for adoption). Pray that his financial needs will be met and that his local church will support him during this time.

Indonesia – Pray for our partners doing earthquake relief work in M, where affected residents are still living in tents. Thank God for the team’s provision of essential goods and clean water for some of these residents. Pray for open doors and hearts towards the team as they carry out visitations and share the Good News. Praise God for the prayer-led healing that has taken place. Pray for God’s protection for the team and for a breakthrough for the people to come to know the Lord amidst a challenging environment.

Myanmar – Pray for peace amidst the political turmoil and anti-coup unrest that has taken place daily since the military takeover on 1 Feb. Pray that believers in Myanmar will live in the light of Christ and continue to share His love with their neighbours.
