Prayer Points 3 July 2022

Our Church

Youth Day – Prayer Items:
1. Youth culture in Singapore — for spiritual revival, against the prevalent culture of apathy and pluralism
2. Christian youths — to grow deep in their relationship with Jesus, to point one another and their friends to Jesus
3. Each and every one of our ZB youths — to not give up in meeting together around God’s Word, to encourage one another and to be engaged with the church family
4. Youth Ministry leaders (YD leaders, YF SGLs/committee) — for patience and joy as they persevere in teaching and supporting the youths

Basic AG Leaders Equipping Course Retreat – Thank God that our BAGLE participants could get away for a half-day retreat yesterday to discuss issues of leadership burnout and pastoral care. Pray for all our AG Leaders (AGLs) to have wisdom in shepherding their AGs. Pray also that every AGL will recognise their own limits in ministry and seek out regular fellowship and support. May the Holy Spirit help us as a church family love our AGLs and join them together in the communal work of building each other up in love and Christlikeness.

Tuition Ministry – Thank God for the resumption of tuition ministry this past Thursday. Pray for God’s love and grace to be upon the teachers as they continue to extend the gift of friendship to these youth and kids by helping them with their academics.

BPCIS Retreat, 4-5 JULY – Tomorrow, 70 participants will gather at Changi Cove for our annual Pastors & Leaders Retreat, our first overnight Retreat after two years since 2019. Our theme is “Strengthening Our Churches” with speaker Pastor Denesh of The Crossing Church. Please keep us in prayer.

Our World

World Refugee Day (20 June) – Pray for the refugee situations arising from various conflicts around the world, for example, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Myanmar. There are many internally displaced peoples, as well as those who have fled out of their countries. Pray for the many needs for the families and vulnerable in these communities. Thank God for Ruth and the Lim family from our church, who were recently engaging with refugee communities for Christ. Pray for more at Zion Bishan to have a special heart to embrace the missions month theme of “Everyone Missional Everywhere” to reach refugees for Christ even in these areas.

India – Update on Bro K who had just undergone his needed hip replacement operation. Thank God for a smooth operation last week and he is healing well. Pray that the physiotherapy sessions provided will help Bro K in the recovery process and that he will not have any major post operation infection. Pray for Sister Sonali, wife of Brother CP, our mission partner, who had to make a long tiring journey to and from Vellore to monitor her serious chronic condition. She returned home on 29 June, Wed. However, she is still in pain and feeling nauseous as her medication has serious side effects. Pray that this will be minimised, a provision of a helper for the family and also for wisdom and strength for Brother CP to balance ministry and family needs.
