Prayer Points 21 November 2021

Our Church

Advent Season Sermon Series – Thank the Lord for reminding us through the Book of Acts this year that we’re all witnesses of His unstoppable Gospel. Pray for the upcoming evangelistic sermon series, for our hearts to be moved by the Holy Spirit to invite a non-believer to come hear about Jesus this Advent season (see page 8).

Leaders’ Retreat (27 Nov) –Pray for our leaders (Ministry Staff, Elders & Deacons) as they gather for a time facilitated by Graceworks to explore on the topic of inter-generational church. Pray that it may be a fruitful time of hearing the Lord’s leading.

Our People

Sheela Thomas  Sheela is the daughter of our longest serving missionaries, Chacko & Radha Thomas (with OM Special Projects, UK). Last Sunday, she suffered a stroke but we thank God she has made a remarkable recovery in cognition and speech, which were impaired seriously. Sheela was recently ordained in the Anglican Church as a Deacon and her desire is to be healthy and well again to serve the Lord. Let us press on in prayer for God to heal and restore her fully.

Our World

Nepal –Thank God for answered prayer for two suitable venues for a children’s home and an IT training school in village D. Pray for smooth arrangements for the move of logistics and people to this new place for ministry. They report wonderful openings and opportunities to serve and love the unreached peoples living in this region through these ministries. Pray for the workers of one partner to be able to reconnect with his extended family in village D. He had joined our partner’s children’s home as a young boy and is now returning to his home village (village D) to head the IT training school. Another partner from Nepal is also visiting a new ministry area near to village D. Pray the Holy Spirit will lead him to meet people who are open and hungry to know God.

India –Praise God for youth festivals (like youth camps) in NE India that have occurred in various church congregations. Many young people have been touched by the Lord and some feel led to go to Bible College. May God use these young people to continue to reach out to the many who do not know Christ in their social networks. Pray also for safety and protection for the churches facing the problem of elephants coming into their villages.
