Prayer Points 23 April 2023

Our Church

Assault on the Body’ Book Launch – A book on guarding against sexual assault in the church was launched yesterday, with several of our leaders and members contributing to it. May God use it to equip the local churches to be shelters of refuge that oppose abuse of any kind. Pray that the Lord will empower Zion Bishan to live out the Gospel in this regard by being a just and safe community for every visitor and member to know Jesus.

Christianity Explored (CE) – The final session of this run of CE will be this Wednesday (26 Apr). We thank God for the 8 seekers who came and for the privilege and opportunity we had to share about who our Lord Jesus is through the Gospel of Mark. Pray for the Spirit to continue to work in each one of their hearts, that the seeds of the Gospel sown will bear fruit in His time. Pray also for our table hosts and church members who will be following up with their friends to see how best they can support them as they continue this journey of seeking Christ.

Our World

India – Pray for the growing ministry of our partner in the Northeast: we thank God for the good attendance at the leadership seminar held on 22 Apr, pray that the Lord will strengthen and enable the pastors and ministry leaders in carrying out the ministry plans for the year. Pray also for the 13 students undergoing a one-month short term intensive bible course. May they be inspired to grow deep in God and to be active in making Him known to others.

In the North, pray for our bible college partner, for good follow up with 20 Bihari seekers and 4 families that they may not lose their interest to know Christ. For the Hindi Belt work, pray for the children who have attended vacation bible schools to grow in their knowledge and love for Christ.

Malaysia – Pray for our partner, Ps and Mrs Lieow, who have for many years, worked hard to establish Orang Asli (OA) churches here. Pray for a good gathering of leaders from the various tribes in May, for the 3rd Synod meeting where many issues facing (OA) churches will be discussed. May there be a unity of mind and heart regarding the decisions made for these church issues. Pray for strength and health also for Ps and Mrs Lieow as they are aging and facing some physical weakness. May the Lord continue to bring freedom and healing from spiritual oppression for all the believers in the OA churches.

Nepal – For our partner in East Nepal, who has a network of church fellowships in the Northeast, pray that those new to the church will grow and mature in Christ.

Another partner that reaches out to children and youths request prayers for their senior boys who are undergoing a 4-day bible training. May what they learn about God inspire them to trust and obey Jesus wholeheartedly.

Pray also that the construction of a school in another area will be able to overcome the delays caused by challenges from the locals.
