Media and Communications Staff

Job Description

Our Media and Communications Staff plays a crucial role in drawing up a strategy and ensuring all aspects of church communications are carried out efficiently and effectively in support of our church’s ministries. You would be someone with vision, initiative, empathy, creativity, skill, resilience and a learner’s posture. You would be a team player that knows how to collaborate with volunteer media and technical ministry teams to support the various ministries in church.

In your day to day work as part of the Admin Team, you will collaborate with the Pastoral and Ministry Team to ensure the timely production and publication of media & communications to our members and public.

Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Responsible for the weekly bulletin; collating, editing and laying out all information provided by the Pastoral and Ministry Teams in a clear and consistent manner.
  • Manage all communication channels and social media platforms (e.g. Website, Facebook Page, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp broadcast) including the timely delivery and publication of content as required.
  • Produce content for various communication platforms using creative tools to design and deliver information to members and the public (e.g. graphics, announcements, slides, videos, banners, advisories, etc).
  • Liaise with various ministries of the church for their publicity and media needs, including graphic, video and audio production.
  • Train and collaborate with volunteer creative media and technical teams.
  • Provide technical support at events on our premises that require the use of our audio and visual equipment (e.g. PA equipment, video and photography). Training for the use and maintenance of such systems will be provided.
  • Other duties may be assigned to you by the Admin Manager or Senior Pastor as the need arises.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in visual/graphic design or audio/video production, communications/media or marketing, OR 2-3 years relevant work experience (e.g. public relations, marketing, graphic design, etc).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Organisational and project management skills will also be helpful.
  • Proficient in creative tools, MS Office, photo & video production, writing & editing.
  • Experience in web design and content production.
  • Willing to be trained and serve the church with audio and visual (PA) equipment will be a big plus.
