Prayer Points 15 May 2022

Our Church

Tuition Ministry – Pray for the youth and the kids who are in the midst of preparing for their mid-year exams. Pray for diligence and discipline in their studying, and that they will be touched by the love of God as they seek to do well amidst what might be a stressful time for many of them.

Our People

Pray for Bro Sum Pooi – Efforts to find a longer term solutions for his physical and health needs has yet to be found. We thank God for the group of brothers and sisters who have committed to bring meals daily, calling to check in on him and also to bring Sum Pooi to his medical appointments.

Our World

Sri Lanka – This nation has faced months of street protests as Asia’s fastest inflation and mismanagement of government finances lead to shortages of food and fuel (The Straits Times, 10 May 2022). Pray that this Buddhist majority nation will seek peaceful ways to solve its growing political turmoil and deepening economic crisis without further violence and loss of life. Pray that Christians in this nation will be salt and light in their communities and may the love of Christ bring peace in this crisis.

India – In the Northeast, our partner has reported encouraging developments where a new church has been built. Pray for their planned outreach to colleges and young people. Pray for wisdom and good opportunities to share Christ with the next generation and college-educated. In the Hindi Belt region, our partner has requested prayers for more workers and support as more centres are established. Another partner in the eastern state is conducting medical camps to rural villages, pray for the harvest as workers interact with the villagers.

Indonesia – Our Missiology School alumni have requested prayers for the students from an Indonesian theological school to be called to work in Kalimantan and elsewhere in western Indonesia. Pray for the ongoing discipleship work amongst new believers in Sumatra. May more church leaders in Indonesia have God’s vision to mobilise and disciple the next generation of believers for the work of the Gospel. Pray for God’s provision for the needs of our Missiology School alumnae who have been faithful in reaching out to their neighbours.
