Prayer Points 9 Aug 2026
Our Church
National Day – Paul urges that “petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” (1 Tim 2:1-4, NIV). May this be our true prayer, not only for peace or prosperity that fades, but for all our neighbours and friends to know this Saviour.
Indonesia Trip (10-16 Aug) – Dn LN together with some members of our church family will be in Sumatra to visit a work and their fellowship group. Pray for safety for the team members and good health as they seek to hear His voice in the midst of Creation. Pray also for a meaningful time of mutual learning and encouragement in the context of a difficult spiritual environment.
Our World
Lebanon – This past week, Lebanon marked the 6th anniversary of the August 2020 port explosion that devastated a large part of the city and claimed thousands of lives. Our ministry partner wrote an email update and commented “…the sound of the explosion has faded, but the faithfulness of God has only grown louder.” Thank God for the blessing of the ministry of Life Kitchen, the food ministry of their church which started then and also for ministry in the Bekaa Valley where many faith discovery groups were started. May God continue to sustain and provide for the many needs of these ministries.
Mongolia – From 11-18 Aug, Ps Paul, Eld Ching Hong, Eld Beng Hwee and others from our Chinese congregations, will be heading to Mongolia to conduct a time of Bible training for a group of church and ministry leaders. May they have a fruitful time of learning and building relationship with each other. May communication be clear and the teaching helpful in deepening faith.
