Prayer Points 12 September 2021

Our Church

Worship Services – Thank God for the opportunity to gather in larger numbers this Sunday. Pray that our church will be encouraged as we see more gather in-person. Pray for our CD (Children’s Discipleship) classes and teachers as they resume meeting in-person too. Pray for safety and wisdom as we continue to heed God’s leading and make any necessary adjustments as we submit to our government’s advisories.

Christianity Explored – Thank God for the 12 seekers who have continued through the course. Pray that the time spent in CE will lead them to committing themselves to our Lord Jesus Christ. The final session will be on 15 Sep, do pray for the facilitators and table hosts to be used mightily by God in sharing His great salvation plan for the world.

Our People

AG12 Outreach Initiative – Pray for AG12’s collaboration with South West CDC and the Fei Yue SAC (Seniors Activity Centre) in Teck Whye. They will be befriending 11 needy seniors residing in 2 rental blocks in Chua Chu Kang. Pray for the volunteers as they provide social and emotional support, and also assist with raising concerns and issues of these seniors to the CDC and Fei Yue. Pray for their protection and God’s wisdom to be upon them as they carry out this labour of love as ambassadors of Christ.

Students – Thank God for the past week of school holidays. Pray that the time of rest has rejuvenated our children and youth to continue the last quarter of the school year. Pray for our students to continue shining for Jesus in their schools and to learn how God is working in the world and in their lives. Pray for their safety as they return to school among the continually evolving COVID situation.

Our World

India – The Straits Times (8 Sep) reports that another COVID-19 wave has already begun in Mumbai and Indian authorities are restricting major religious festivals in an attempt to slowdown infections. Pray for the safety of many of our partner’s ministries. In North India, pray for workers who face many difficulties and challenges. They report needs for medical services in the field, and for more teachers and administrators to work in Christian schools. Pray for the Lord of the harvest to raise up the workers needed in these areas.

Myanmar – On 7 September, Myanmar’s shadow government called for a nationwide uprising against the junta causing panic buying in Yangon. CNA reported protests and a rise in fights between the army and ethnic military groups. Pray for peace in Myanmar and for the believers in the country to persevere in faith despite these uncertainties. Our partner in Yangon, writes encouragingly saying “we are safe because we are under His wings.” Thank God for their faith in times of adversity.
