Prayer Points 2 January 2021

Our Church

Dedication 2022 – As we dedicate our church to the Lord anew for this year and years ahead, pray that we, as members of His church, will humble ourselves, pray, seek His face and turn from our wicked ways. Pray that as we put our God first in our lives, He will direct our steps to live lives offered as living sacrifices for His glory.

Our People

Transitions Pray for many of our children and young people entering a new stage of life this year: changing schools, educational levels, some entering national service or the workforce. Pray that they will seek godly counsel at every season to make the best use of time, since we live in evil days.

Our World

Singapore – Some Vaccinated Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS) have kicked in on 1 Jan 2022 and will increase in February. Pray that these measures will continue to aid the country in its fight against COVID-19. Pray for those affected by these differentiations. Pray that the church in Singapore will be able to offer God’s grace and love and minister to all in need, vaccinated or not.

India – Christmas week in India saw many seeds of the gospel planted in the hearts of those who attended church events run by our partners. Pray for the Holy Spirit to convict the heart of those who have heard the gospel of their sin and to grow in repentance. Our partners also have many local challenges to their faith, so pray for strength, perseverance and faithfulness for Christian brothers and sisters in India. Pray especially for the new believers over the past year who have acknowledged Christ in their lives to be nurtured and discipled.

Lebanon –Our partner reports that the economic challenges for his country has continued to worsen in recent weeks. Yet, the church is “alive more than ever.” Praise God for the food and medical relief, and the gospel which has been offered to many people. In doing so they have seen God work through healing and radical life changes. Praise God for what He is doing. For 2022, they are committed to providing food parcels to over 600 families every 4-6 weeks. Pray that God will provide for this endeavour and that He will continue to rebuild Lebanon’s economy and government.

Malaysia – The death toll from Malaysia’s worst flood in years rose to 46 on Saturday (ST, 25 Dec). Five people still missing, officials said, as work crews continued a massive clean-up on Christmas Day. ST also reported 54,532 people are in more than 300 evacuation centres across the seven states. Pray for expedient flood relief efforts and God’s mercy in the current difficult situation.
