Prayer Points 29 November 2020

Our Church

Family Ministry Events – Thank God for the yesterday’s Faith at Home session that touched on sitting our children in the main worship service. It is important to teach our children to love our weekly Sunday services where we worship and communion with God and one another. Pray that the Spirit will work in the hearts of our parents to build and pass on their faith to their children.
Pray also for the upcoming Marriage Course (5 Dec). Thank God for the couples who have committed to the 7 sessions. May they be blessed in the time spent in building up their relationships.

Our People

Benson Chia – We grieve with the family of our beloved brother Benson Chia, who went home to His Heavenly Father on 26th Nov – after 4 long years battling with cancer. Benson served faithfully as a deacon of this church for 6 years (despite his worsening condition), creating the Life Fellowship which supports those going through illness as well as their caregivers. He was a true saint of the Lord and you can listen to his testimony here: https://youtu.be/D_rkt-FbOHU

Youths – Thank God for the many youths who are able to come to today’s in-person service. Pray that they will be ministered to and encouraged in their walk with God. Thank God also for seeing them through this school year and for the Spirit to work in their hearts as they prepare for new challenges next year.

PSLE – Primary 6 students received their results last week. Pray for our students to give God the glory for leading them through this milestone and trust in His plans. As they move into their next phase of education, may they continue to grow, to be like Jesus, in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

Our World

Lebanon – Pray for the people of Lebanon, who continue to suffer from food shortages, an economic collapse and increasing COVID cases. These problems intensified after the explosion in the port of Beirut in August. Although international donations are available, the current political situation has impeded any progress. The former Prime Minister recently declared that he does not want to continue as caretaker and leader of the country. Please pray earnestly for a new government to be formed that will have the will and perseverance to see through needed political reforms that are the country desperately needs.
Pray for our ministry partner in Beirut, who reports that the situation there is very tough. Pray for their effort to provide hot meals and reach out to needy families and a refugee camp in the Bekaa valley. Pray that their work will lead people to glorify God and come to faith in Jesus.
