Prayer Points 28 November 2021

Our Church

Safeguarding Training – Keep in prayer our 1030am congregation leaders and peer supporters, as they undergo safeguarding training today. Pray that Zion Bishan will continue growing as a church family in our awareness of abuse and its risks, and that every leader and member will understand their roles in building a safe culture for all to grow and know Jesus in our community. Read more about safeguarding on page 7.

“Who Knows?” Evangelistic Event (4 Dec) –Pray that we will boldly use the opportunity to invite friends, and that they will come and hear the good news. Pray for our speaker, Ps Lincoln Mao (Bethesda Christian Centre), that he will preach the gospel clearly & faithfully from John. Pray also for our follow up, that we will use what we’ve been equipped with and invite friends to keep exploring the Gospel of John with us.

Our World

Philippines – Praise God for the ministry developments of our partner SMO (Student Missionary Outreach). We thank God that ministry was able to continue, in a limited way despite pandemic restrictions, through Bible studies and leadership training online. Praise God also for the addition of a 2-storey building, a gate and improved road entrance at the Promised Land (the property that houses their Bible Training Institute), agriculture and animal income generating projects. Thank God that 3 students are able to begin in-person studies at SMO Bible Training Institute this academic year.

India – Pray for Sister Sonali, wife of Cecil (Bible college principal) who is unwell due to some complication from a chronic health condition. Her appointment on 28 Nov at a hospital had to be postponed to Jan 2022 due to flooding and disruption to train schedules. Thank God that her condition has been brought under control with medication. Pray that her condition will remain stable and for God’s peace and strength to be upon her.

Pray for Brother A as he follows up with youths from the recent festivals who indicated interest in serving the Lord. He hopes to invite them to participate in short-term bible courses and to identify potential leaders. Pray that God will grow our partner’s efforts in equipping and nurturing the next generation of leaders in their churches or communities.

Nepal – We thanked God last week that our partner found a suitable place for their ministry in village D. Please pray for the minor renovations and repairs that need to be undertaken before winter sets in. Pray for the provision of building materials which are hard to find in these remote areas. Pray for safety and protection as the partner moves people and logistics to this village; the journey is perilous and involves crossing a narrow bridge on motorbike. Pray also for favour with the landlord and the authorities.
