Prayer Points 22 January 2023

Our Church

English as Second Language (ESL) – Thank God for this ministry where students can get to see and experience God’s love through the teachers. As they prepare to resume classes on 13 Feb, pray for the teachers to rest well during the break and for God’s wisdom and strength to prepare for the lessons. Continue to pray for receptive hearts of the students, that they may receive God’s word and draw closer to Him. Pray also for more teachers and volunteers to step forward in loving service.

Our People

Kaiyin – Pray for her as she serves in a Singaporean NGO (Non Government Organisation) helping refugees in West Asia. Pray for physical healing for her as she sprained her ankle last week and is currently forced to rest more.  May the Lord also enable her to cope with the colder weather this winter as her body does not take well to the cold.  Thank God for this quieter season, where she is able to take things a little slower and also reflect on what God is doing in her life and work.

Our World

Chinese New Year – As Chinese people celebrate this holiday around the world, many who have broken relationships with family will find this weekend especially lonely and difficult. Pray for those who are lonely in our church in Singapore and in Chinese majority countries worldwide. Pray that God’s love will shine through churches everywhere and be a place of love and belonging to those within its community and outside it.

India – In the south, one partner is visiting and encouraging local believers and workers who face challenges for their faith. Despite the difficulties, believers are persevering. May we continue to uphold them in our prayers. Last week, we prayed for a youth fellowship meeting in the Hindi Belt areas by one of our partners, praise God that 68 youths have committed to serve Him through this event.
