Prayer Points 24 May 2026
Our Church
June Sermon Series – Let us prayerfully ask our Father in heaven to speak to us and draw us closer to Him, as we explore “Restless Idols” this June. May the Lord reveal to us how the idols of ministry, time, progress and health can rob us of deep restedness in Christ and of our lasting joy in Him.
ACM 2026 – Let us lift our church family up to the Lord for our Annual Congregational Meeting next Sunday. Beyond the necessary clearing of business matters, we really want the ACM to be a good time for us to gather as a church, to take stock of what the LORD has been doing, and to rest in His goodness and grace. We pray that our minds and hearts will be aligned as we hear His voice and respond in faithful obedience for the sake of Christ and the Gospel.
Christianity Explored (CE) – Thank God for the past 7 weeks, the 12 seekers and friends who came and for the opportunity and privilege we had to share Jesus with them. Pray that our merciful God will continue to reveal Himself to them, and that the seeds that have been sown will take root and grow through His Spirit in His time. Pray for our table hosts as they seek to continue following up and journeying alongside them.
BGST Convocation – We thank God for the 35th Convocation Service of the Biblical Graduate School of Theology, held at Church of the Good Shepherd on Sat 23 May. We celebrate with Chang En Qi on her graduation with the Graduate Certificate of Theological Studies, and with our long-time missions partner Rev Cecil P. on his graduation with the Master of Divinity.
Pray for:
- Ministry Staff Dr Quek Tze-Ming as he teaches New Testament and Integrative Studies at the school.
- En Qi and Cecil (and fellow graduating classmates) as they continue to use the training they have acquired for ministry in both church and workplace.
Our World
In.dia – Pray for Christians facing persecution in this South Asian country. Minority religious groups face frequent disruption to their activities and harassment. Pray for believers living in the north that they will be empowered by the Holy Spirit to stand firm in their faith. They face opposition from the authorities as well as their communities.
